The Swarm Nest is the spiritual successor to the E-Hole from previous games. Enemies emerge from the nest, and once they are killed, the nest cap explodes. Once exploded, you can take cover in the nest.

Sculpted, baked and textured the swarm nest and the cap of the nest. I also created a custom shader for both elements. The nest needed to be textured in a way that it could be placed on any surface and blend into the ground well. I worked with designers, VFX, lighting and fellow environment artist Clinton Crumpler (who was responsible for most of the other environment swarm assets) to make sure the nest met gameplay, design, VFX and art director's requirements.
